Trade in the open. Get paid under the hood.

Your balance is nobody's business

On a normal chain, the moment you share your address you hand over your whole financial life. Every payment you ever received, every token you hold, every wallet you ever touched: one link on an explorer and it is all there, forever, for anyone.

Hooded fixes the half of that problem that matters most: getting paid. With Hooded you can put a single receiving address on your profile, in a chat, on an invoice, anywhere, and every payment lands on a brand new address that nobody can connect to you or to each other. The sender does not know your real wallet. The explorer does not know. Only you do.

This is not a mixer, and that is the point.

Nothing is pooled, nothing is custodied, nothing waits in a queue. Funds go straight from the sender to an address only you can unlock, in one transaction, using open standards (ERC-5564 and ERC-6538). No trusted party, no admin key, no way for anyone to freeze it.

How private receive works

Hooded uses stealth addresses. The idea is simple: instead of sharing your wallet, you share a public recipe. Anyone can use that recipe to compute a fresh address that only you can spend from.

1
You sign once, no gas

Connect your wallet and sign a message. From that signature Hooded derives two keys in your browser: a spending key and a viewing key. Together they form your meta-address, a string that starts with st:eth:0x…. You can register it on-chain so people can pay you with just your normal wallet address, or share the meta-address directly.

2
The sender generates a one-time address

Whoever pays you generates a random ephemeral key, combines it with your meta-address, and gets a brand new stealth address. They send the funds there and publish a small announcement on-chain in the same transaction. The announcement contains the ephemeral public key and a one-byte view tag. It does not contain your address, your name, or anything that points at you.

3
You scan and find what is yours

Hit “Scan now”. Hooded reads the announcements, and your viewing key tests each one. The view tag throws away 255 out of 256 announcements instantly, so scanning is fast even with thousands of payments on the network. The ones that match are yours, and they show up with their balances.

4
You withdraw to wherever you want

For each stealth address, Hooded derives the private key in your browser and lets you send the funds on. Move them to a fresh wallet, swap them, or pay someone else. Your spending key never leaves your device and is never stored anywhere.

Why it is strong

Fresh address, every time

Each payment lands on a different address. There is no pattern to follow and no cluster to build. Two payments to you look like two payments to two strangers.

Your keys never leave the browser

Spending and viewing keys are derived from a signature on demand and thrown away when you close the tab. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is saved on a server.

Math, not trust

The address is computed with elliptic-curve cryptography on secp256k1, the same curve that secures every Ethereum wallet. Nobody can derive your stealth private key without your spending key.

Open standards

ERC-5564 (stealth addresses) and ERC-6538 (meta-address registry) are public Ethereum standards. Any compatible wallet or tool can pay you or scan for you.

One transaction

Transfer and announcement happen atomically in the HoodedStealthSender contract. No two-step dance, no window where funds are in limbo.

No custody, no admin

The privacy contracts (Announcer, Registry, Stealth Sender) hold nothing and have no owner functions. There is no pause button and no one who can take your funds or your privacy away.

The swap

Hooded is a full DEX, not just a privacy tool. It runs the battle-tested Uniswap V2 design on Robinhood Chain: automated market maker pools, no order book, no middleman, always liquid as long as someone has added liquidity.

  • 0.30% fee per swap, today paid entirely to the liquidity providers of that pool. Provide liquidity and you earn on every trade that goes through. When $HOODED staking launches, one sixth of that fee is routed to stakers and providers keep 0.25%.
  • Slippage you control. Pick a preset or set a custom value. Your transaction reverts if the price moves past it.
  • Native ETH support. Swap ETH directly; Hooded wraps and unwraps behind the scenes using the canonical WETH.
  • The natural exit for private funds. Withdraw from a stealth address to a fresh wallet, swap from there, and the trail never reaches your main wallet.

What it covers, and how to get the most out of it

We would rather you know exactly what you are getting. Hooded hides who received a payment. Here is how to make that count:

Hidden
  • • The link between a payment and your wallet
  • • The link between two payments to you
  • • Your total balance across payments
  • • Your identity, even if you register on-chain and people pay your public address
Still public
  • • The amount and the token of each payment
  • • The sender's address
  • • Regular swaps and liquidity actions
  • • Your IP and timing at the RPC level, like any chain
Pro tips
  • Never withdraw a stealth balance straight to your main wallet. That one transaction undoes the privacy. Withdraw to a fresh wallet or straight into a swap.
  • Withdrawing ERC-20 tokens needs a little ETH on the stealth address for gas. Hooded tells you when that is the case.
  • Use a regular wallet (EOA). Smart-contract wallets do not produce the deterministic signature the key derivation needs.
  • Rotate. There is no cost to deriving a new meta-address; use different ones for different contexts if you like.

Contracts on Robinhood Chain

Everything Hooded does is on-chain and verifiable. These are the addresses the app talks to.

FAQ

Do I need a special wallet?

No. Any standard wallet like MetaMask or Rabby works. You sign one message to derive your keys; there is nothing to install or back up.

Can Hooded see my funds or my keys?

No. Keys are derived and used in your browser only. The optional backend just indexes public announcements so scanning is instant; it never sees anything the chain does not already show.

What if the Hooded website goes away?

Your funds are on normal Ethereum addresses derived from your signature. Any ERC-5564 compatible tool can recover them with the same wallet signature.

Is this legal?

Stealth addresses are an Ethereum standard and give you the same kind of privacy a fresh bank account number gives you. You stay responsible for following the laws where you live.

Does the swap itself become private?

No. Swaps are normal on-chain transactions. Privacy is on the receiving side: get paid privately, then spend or swap from a wallet nobody can tie to you.

How much does it cost?

Registering a meta-address and sending a private payment cost normal gas on Robinhood Chain, which is a fraction of a cent. Scanning and deriving keys are free.
